Respond, trauma-informed charity, joins Bild Group
Bild is delighted to welcome Respond to the Bild Alliance of charities.
In June, Bild announced plans for Respond, a national charity that supports people with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced trauma, to join the Bild Group of charities. The necessary legal processes are now complete, and at the beginning of October, Respond formally joined the Bild Group.
Respond provides specialist psychotherapy, advocacy and trauma-informed training and will join the three other independent charities within the Bild Group – Bild, the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) and Bild Association of Certified Training (ACT).
All charities within the alliance operate independently with their own Board of Trustees and governance arrangements, while benefiting from pooled back-office functions such as HR, finance and communications. All charities in the group share a common goal – to help build a more inclusive society where everyone can enjoy the same rights and opportunities.
There will be no changes to the services received by Respond clients.
Ben Higgins, CEO of the Bild Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome the Respond team to the Bild Alliance of charities. Respond’s vital services are an example of best practice in trauma-informed care. I believe this collaboration will be mutually beneficial for both organisations but more importantly, will better enable us to improve support for people with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced trauma as result of abuse or institutional models of care.”
