RRN Webinar – Narratives Around Children with Challenging Behaviour: A site for culture change in education?

Relationships are at the heart of effective helpful practice around children and families who need intensive support. In this webinar Deborah James will present findings from a small exploratory intervention study with multi-disciplinary teams around children in a special school whose behaviour staff found challenging. Deborah will show how changes to staff’s self-narratives, provoked by the use of team-based video review of strengths-based practice, were interwoven with the revision of their narratives around the child and his family. We will explore the potential of the intervention to challenge and change cultures around children and discuss the findings in the context of education policy narratives around behaviour and its ‘management’.

Deborah’s webinar will be followed by a Q&A session. The recording of this webinar will be made available to Restraint Reduction Network Members – RRN Membership is free and easy to join, find out more here>
