Programme details
This programme for families shares general principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). PBS helps us understand why behaviours might be happening, how we can understand and proactively support our children, and teach them other ways of managing.
We will also think about ways to improve quality of life for all the family, and for family carers to identify good PBS in schools or services their child may be attending.
Who the programme is for
This course is designed by and for parents, carers and family members who support children and adults who have a learning disability, autism and may sometimes show behaviours of concern.
Please note there will be limited time to discuss individual circumstances.
What the programme involves
The programme consists of three, 2-hour online sessions, taking place over 3 consecutive weeks.
The programme takes place online with a max group of 6 parents / families present.
Some optional activities can be done at home, in between sessions, to help understand some of the PBS tools.
Programme aims
This aim of this programme is to support families in supporting their child or young person to thrive, and for the whole family to enjoy the best quality of life at home.
