What does Community Inclusion mean? Sunderland People First workshop 14th February 2022
Self-advocates from Sunderland People First have designed and delivered a series of workshops looking at what Community Inclusion means. Invitations are open now to their next Community Inclusion workshop 14.2.22, 2-4pm (delivered on Zoom).
The interactive session will be delivered by trainers who have a learning disability and are open to everyone. Sunderland People First will look at what Inclusion means in practice and learn and share together about:
- What do we mean by reasonable adjustments and support for people with a Learning Disability?
- What are some of the barriers that people with a learning disability face when accessing health and social care services?
- The importance of communication and how this can either include or exclude people.
- Learn how you and your team can support people with a learning disability and autistic people on a training programme called Be Safe Be Confident.
Places can be booked by emailing [email protected] or by phoning 07980 745023.
Further information is also available in the downloadable flyer here.
Attendees will be involved in the conversation so please attend the workshop with a pen and paper to take part in lots of interactive exercises.
