Exciting opportunity to join the Bild team!
Could you be our new Greater London Learning Disability and Autism Community of Practice Coordinator?
Do you hold strong coordination and organisational skills? Are you knowledgeable and well-networked? Do you have a passion and commitment to ensuring people with learning disabilities and autistic people are equal citizens and are able to enjoy the same rights and opportunities as everyone else?
We’re seeking a Community of Practice Coordinator for our Greater London team. As Community of Practice Coordinator, you will work closely with our Learning Disability and Autism Manager, Engagement Coordinator, and steering group, to create a positive and thriving community of practice for London.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for developing a programme of content about matters of importance to community members (e.g. webinars, newsletter items, blog posts, social posts) that will spark meaningful discussion and debate.
The key function of the community is to provide a forum for Londoners to share information, resources, examples of good practice and a safe and connected space to ask questions and provide answers. You will be able to signpost the community to information, support and expertise on a variety of issues, supported by our experienced Engagement Coordinator.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering our exciting workplan as agreed with the Greater London Community of Practice (GLCoP) steering group
- Providing regular updates to the steering group
- Developing a programme of material that is of interest to and will engage the community (e.g. programme of webinars, annual event programme, provide a steer on content for newsletters and blogs)
- Representing Bild at events in the CoP forum, providing a guiding, professional and expert voice to members
- Increasing the membership of the community, ensuring there is a broad mix from different stakeholder groups
The purpose of Bild facilitated communities of practice is to enable all those involved in supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people to have opportunities to learn from each other and work alongside people with lived experience, in order to improve the support that people receive. This community aims to bring together a diverse group of people with lived experience, practitioners and carers with a shared aim to drive practice forward.
A background working with people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people in the health, education or social care sector, or as an unpaid carer or family member with lived experience would be welcomed for this important role.
